The project begins
with excavation and the pouring of a 6" thick concrete footing base (unreinforced).
A compacted gravel base can be used here as well.
The base block
are set on the footing. The drain tile is being prepared for
setting behind the wall for drainage.
The GEO-MAX base block spans a
step-down in the footing.
After the base course is laid,
the block on this project were set with a backhoe, taking
approximately 3 minutes each to set.
Corner block are used on the
end of the wall, adding beauty and functionality by retaining the
soil as the wall end steps down.
The block were customized to
accept bollards on the top block, providing safety for vehicular
traffic.
Bollards were set four feet
apart (one per block) where needed.
